My spa is outside on a deck. Is there anything that I can do to protect it during the winter and still be able to use it?
Although the wintertime is the most pleasurable season to use an outdoor spa, there are certain precautions you must take to ensure the proper operation and energy efficiency of your unit. If your spa has an Auto Heat or Freeze Protect system make sure that it is activated as soon as the temperatures start to drop at night. If your spa is equipped with only a Cycle Timer system it is a good idea to set it to come on for at least 15 minutes every hour to ensure water circulation through the pipes and to keep the water hot. If your spa is not equipped with either of these options, you’ll need to keep your spa running on low speed heat mode 24 hours a day until there is no more danger of it freezing.
